Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? From an initial recruiter call, it seems the SPM provides the consultative product recs while the PSM onboards the client onto that product and tracks performance to provide actionable recs as needed. Foreign LLM student here. I plan to take the NY bar exam in February. I’m thinking of taking a bar prep course (most likely Barbri). They offer two options: the “traditional” course (which lasts around 2.5 months) and an extended 6-month course. The difference in price is substantial – 2.5k for the traditional course vs 6k for the extended one. Any thoughts/recommendations on which one I should take? Does anyone know if this is normal? I joined a vault 100 firm in September last year. The firm put me on tier 7. In January I had the associate review and everything was normal. After a couple of weeks, I got the call from the hiring partner telling my bonus and new salary (because of the firm-wide salary increase). I realized I still get paid as a 7 year associate. The partner said because I joined the firm later in the year, it’s normal not to advance in the next year. Is it? Thanks!

I’m a first year associate (almost second year). I work at a national firm and I’m not a litigator. When I started with the firm, I was told I could work out of any office. Long story short, I regret choosing the office that I chose. I’d like to transfer to another office - is that a difficult ask? I’m licensed in the state I’d like to transfer to. Partners - Do you ever take vacations?

I have been at my current firm for about 1.5 years, and in that entire time the partner in my group hasn't been out of the office a single time. Is that normal? I can't tell if it's standard for big law partners to not take time off, if the dynamics for my group may be different (only 1 partner in the entire group), or it the partner I work with is just a masochist.

What length of vacation do you usually take? I’m a big fan of taking many 4 day weekends (instead of 1 or 2 longer vacays) but apparently those aren’t encouraged in the Big Law world?
