I believe in the philosophy of learning from other's experiences, success stories, mistakes and regrets while keeping in mind that similar set of life events may unfold into totally different ways/outcomes for others as there are always too many variables in the equation called LIFE. People may arrive at different destinations at different times while being on the almost similar path.

From 180k full time to 200k and 10 percent sweat equity in a boutique consulting firm as their cto, to kickstart their AWS practice .. any thoughts. This new company does not have any product thinking or strategy and full lifecycle cloud delivery pedigree yet ..

Client recently offered me a job for an open req (industry eq SM). The work is flexible, the req is just to get me in the door but I decide what I want to work on (which I trust to be true). Much better culture, wlb, etc., but I’d be taking a 100k pay cut and be an IC with no team. Is it worth taking a step back in pay and responsibilities, or does it seem possible to get all in one?

🐠, need opinions/advice. Persistent recruiter asked me to consider having an exploratory convo with a company for a VP role even though I’m not looking to make a switch. That casual convo has morphed into two interviews this week, one with an SVP and EVP and one with the global head of the practice. It would be a $65k bump in salary. Worth going through with it? I work on a consulting team at a large software company. I’m a job hopper, around 2 years each at my first and second jobs and a little over a year at this job. I recently found out they’re shutting my team down. We’re not fired, but they’re transferring us to the core implementation team, which has a horrible reputation for malignancy, overworking, and isn’t at all what I was hired to do. How hard is it going to be to for me to find a new job? Should I just stay and try things out? What next?

I interviewed with a top big law firm last week for a Senior Project Manager role. I felt fairly good and confident post the interviews. Sadly I was not given the offer. I remember the Director mentioned that I was over qualified for the position. I’m currently a Consultant… I’m guess I’m not sure how to take the “over qualified” response. Prior to the interviews, I felt I needed more experience …. Lol. Anyone else felt the same?

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!
