Not personally, but as an HR manager, as long as you meet the company guidelines to take leave then this is a benefit you should use if you're struggling coping. Follow the required procedures, such as obtaining a medical certification. Might be a good idea to speak with a coach or counselor about the struggles you are facing to see if there is an underlying issue as well. Good luck,
Yes. I was under severe stress that led to physical illnesses. Everything was well documented and I had a treatment plan if I had an episode at work. I went back to work because my the company said they didn’t receive my dr’s request for additional time. Thank God my Dr submitted an appeal on my behalf. A week after I went back to work they fired me! The write up listed 4x that I was away from my desk (each time I was having a medical emergency- my manager was with me the entire time) It was actually 5x however they didn’t list that incident due to the EMT’s had to rush me to the ER. The STD was approved and they had to pay me even though I lost my job!
Same with severe stress leading to physical illness and was fired in RIFs the week after my return date. My long term disability was approved and they had to pay 4 months of that plus 3 months severance after letting me go.
Yes
I took a leave of absence but my leave was not approved.
