Uplift for the standing desk
☝️ This is the correct answer. And it's well below your budget. Mine was like $700 with a lot of bells and whistles.
Assuming your budget is flexible, flexispot standing desk. Works perfectly, dirt cheap, not a lot of different between a cheap hard surface and an expensive one. Then you can either really invest in the chair where budget matters, or have an extra 800 bucks to spend on something else
Aeron for the chair ;-)
Autonomous for both
Branch desks are the nicest. Highly recommend.
Haworth Zody chair - they had them at my previous capital one job. Really good for my lower back pain issues.
I ordered the Executive chair from Bush Business Furniture. Comfortable and looks decent around the house too.
Similar to what B&C2 said above - I recommend a cheaper desk and then spending more $ on the chair. The Autonomous desk is a great choice - you’ll see some bad reviews online but I’m very happy with mine and other friends who own one are happy with theirs. Works perfectly and has for over a year. And then spend $$$ on treating your body right with a really good chair

Check to see if you have a discount with Steelcase through BCG. We were able to outfit an office with two standing desks (L-shape) and a Gesture chair for under $2k.
If you’re in a decent size metro there are likely multiple used office furniture stores where you can get a refurbished chair for ~60% off retail. Even if you get a massive desk you’ll be within your budget.
