I’ve 14 years experience (all the same firm) and worked across large scale migrations and divestments for European and global banks. I’ve recently transferred to the Middle East due to regional demand for my skill set and I’ve done a few post merger integration work but more on the tech and programme delivery side. I’d like to move on to another firm and work in a more business related integration work like IMO. I don’t want to do DD as it’s not my skill set. Any suggestion for role types/firms?

I have an offer of 13lpa fixed +1lpa variable from Cogni but not sure what kind of project they'll put me into as they have not cleared that yet. Living in Van. Previously lived in Toronto. Obviously rent prices are high as is cost of living. Generally go out and spend more often living in a city. Boyfriend and I on good salary but not saving much due to the above. Before we move home to our own country, we’d love to spend a year close to Vancouver where rent is cheaper, temptation is less, to save. A commute to Vancouver 1-2 times a month needs to be possible (his job). That can be a flight if it’s not crazy. Thoughts? Recommendations?

Hello, I am a Risk Analyst at a software company and have been a top performer on my team for a year now. I was hired on with the impression that my company will pay top performers “top of market salaries” because it is stated in the culture deck of the company. Through independent research I have found that I am not being compensated “top or market” and according to most sources I am not even at the median salary for risk analysts in our industry with similar experience and education. I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.

Auditor here. I'm considering transferring to forensics. Personally, I think forensics sounds much more interesting and stimulating than audit but wanted to see if anyone has first hand experience with this. How similar is audit to forensics? Do you find it more fulfilling and why?

Anyone here get their CFF? What is the deal with the 1,000 hour requirement? Do I actually need to get my hours exported (showing some mixture of work) for the last 5 years? The instructions are vague.

Hi all - I am looking for some advice and possible future options. I have associate/senior KPMG experience and moved to industry working in investment accounting. I have passed the CPA exam and am looking at getting the CFE. It seems like a lot of forensic/fraud positions are based in IT/programming or other computer based skills. Are there avenues in fraud/forensics that would be open to someone with my experience? If so, are there any skills/certs that I would need to be a desirable hire? TIA!

Getting ready to study for the CAMS exam. Do I need anything extra besides just studying the study guide and practice exam over and over. I’ve read online about people using AML assassin; is it worth it?

For anyone who’s taken / passed the CFE, is it worth paying for the full exam prep course or would studying the fraud examiners manual suffice?

I am a CFE, but my primary role is accounting advisory. Are there ways that I can still continue to expand my practical knowledge about the forensic accounting profession (getting involved with the ACFE and other orgs, volunteering, etc.) without switching over to a forensic accounting role entirely?

Cram studying for CFE. Is it recommended to study for one test and take one at a time, or study for all and take the 4 on the same day?
