I lived in Chicago for three years as a consultant and flew MDW exclusively. I was hardly ever delayed, security was never overwhelming, and all around it was just a much better experience than the nightmare of ORD. Plus traffic isn't as bad going to annd from! But you'll have to fly southwest. Their reward program is the best for free domestic flights and the companion pass benefit is amazing and I personally love them but you will be giving up your first class upgrades and international rewards. I keep status on both southwest and AA out of LAX now so I can have the best of both, but that takes a lot of effort :)
Yes much better especially using southwest
Do you fly southwest?
I'm currently AA and it pretty much sucks. Been flying it every week for almost a year and still only Gold. Rarely get upgraded and my flight every week is to a smaller airport (which happens to be a SWA hub) on a small crappy AA plane with no wifi and no first class section. Also, for holidays I usually fly SWA just because of where my family lives so might as well just make the move to SWA for work travel too I'm thinking.
Just wanted to make sure there are no big negatives about SWA or MDW that I wasn't aware of
Depends on where you are going to in Chicago
