I’ve done media management on 3 unscripted shows now, the last was a 3 year contract on a talk show. An earlier one I was embedded city subjects at sea for 4 months. I was a gaffer and key grip for a decade before that with occasional Cam Op gigs and did a bunch of one person crew unscripted content for clients along the way too. Often I end up doing the labor of 4 or 5 people while having 3 or more managers that just send emails. Any tips for protecting myself from this happening again?

I recently ended a three-year relationship and are looking to move to a new city to start fresh. I’m looking for an affordable city with good nature perks (mostly hiking, camping). Help! I’m transitioning into Product Design and finally got my first offer. Super excited but want to make sure that I’m compensated competitively. The company is a newer startup, estab. around 2017. I would be their first PD. They have offered me the following 2 options to choose between:

- CAD $77,000 p.a., 20 days of paid annual leave, 10 days of paid sick leave

- CAD $81,000 p.a.,10 days of paid annual leave, 5 days of paid sick leave

I prefer more PTO but also higher salary. Thoughts?
