Bourbon pecan pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas
Not meat related, but I love adding bourbon when baking pumpkin pies. Kicks it up a notch 🥃 🥧
Made some maple bourbon bacon on the bbq which was fire
I've made whiskey caramel cheesecake, port and cherry brownies, and bourbon or brandy cook nicely in cranberry sauce.
In all seriousness, use it to replace vanilla at a slightly higher rate.
Cooked? No. But I make bourbon pecan balls every Christmas that get RAVE reviews
I use it often when deglazing a pan after searing proteins or vegetables, I’ve made whiskey ice cream, custards, and baked goods.
Alcohol is an important tool in all sorts of cooking and whisky works great for the right flavor combinations.
Been there. My wife made a chocolate whiskey cake with whiskey caramel sauce for my birthday last year and I probably still think about it at least once a month. Don't know if you can bake but I'm dropping the recipe anyway to spread the good around lol. I usually marinate my steaks or chicken with whiskey or bourbon and add brown sugar and refrigerate it in a pan for about 2 hours. If I do not have the time I use butter and seasonings. Last night I was tempted to splash some whiskey on top but i just used butter and black pepper.
I make a hard whiskey sauce for my bread pudding. I usually use bourbon but depending on the audience, I’ll use a sweeter scotch.
