Anyone know a good method of showing dollars saved by increasing (rail) fleet utilization?

-train car has higher cubic capacity so how much more are you able to ship from a to b per load
-what is your linehaul rate on road vs per load on train (don’t forget dray to / from train, cost of special rail dunnage)
-figure out a cost per cube between the two methods and take the difference

I've never thought of it as dollars saved, but revenue increased. If you can show profit through operation, I guess you can take that against depreciation or the bond/loan for the asset, to show "dollars saved". Even then, I'd just show it as increased profit.

Unless there's a cost to having the train sitting (like a storage fee), I'm not sure you'll save money by operating the train.

2 years out of undergrad and have a 758 credit score. Never missed a payment and was never late on one. How do I increase my available credit balance? It’s $10k on my card right now, I don’t need funds for anything, just would like to see it rise in case I ever do down the road.

469k new construction
No washer dryer or refrigerator included
Added these at cost, downgraded to basic grey paint throughout, removed blinds and builder accepted 460. Feeling cheated :/

What would have been a better offer?

Sanity check. I like a nice lifestyle. Currently make 350-550k with bonus. 53 years old. About 400k in brokerage. Another 1.9million in retirement accounts. House worth 1.2 million with loan of 625k. For retirement pension will be $2400 per mo which goes to my wife if I die for life. Another 3800k Per month estimated from Social Security. I plan on working another 10 years or so maybe less once the kids graduate college. I am this will be out in 2024. What should I be doing or thinking about?

Fishes honest opinion needed. Me and My so presently live in Arkansas, living in our first home with a child 4 year, both of us recently changed our jobs and have HHI ~ 420K, current mortgage 1600/month. We are looking to move to Dallas and thinking of buying a house ~996K with a 15% down. Questions -
1. Should we go for house of that budget? We can afford, but asking based on market.
2. Should we down 15% or just 5% ? Or go for 20% ?

Was able to do so in London, Hong Kong, and India. However, Robinhood here doesn’t seem to allow it.

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? We are moving from Vegas to Sacramento and we are not sure how long we would stay in the new area. Thoughts?
