Anyone know how to go about finding a reliable tax person?

I have strong doubts about H&R block online tool (pwc gives a us a discount). Over the last 2 years, my taxes have seemed really high, where we pay huge (for us) amounts. My husband thinks its because I entered something wrong, and is convinced that we need to hire a live tax accountant this year.

I’ve got cash that I want to conserve (for bschool) and my time horizon is 1 year. It is currently all sitting in a HYSA. Should I bother moving it to a higher return investment and if so what would that be? Thank you!

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.
