I was offered a job with a company who offered $30k less than I’m making now. I was prepared to take a pay cut for the opportunity but asked for a $10k reduction because I’m not a high earner yet so it really makes a difference.

Eventually we (the CEO and I) shook at a $20k reduction on the understanding that they would pay for my gym membership as it’s my biggest expense, and I was upfront that it costs $4k a year.

Today they reneged on the gym element as they don’t offer that..

When is it a good time to start looking for a new job? This is still my first career job out of college. I have been here for 3 years now. The opportunities are great I love my company, the people I work with, the work life balance... however, the salary is slightly lacking (or am I wrong?). I have asked for salary raises, the most recent one was 9%, the other years the typical 2-4%. But, I’ve been seeing entry level right from college make as much as me now. Any advice or thoughts?

They gave large raises to 95% of our employees across all specialties (some called what they got "life changing") but our group was overlooked or disregarded with no explanation! Now we are losing employees (4 have put in notices in the last 3 weeks and pretty much everyone is looking). Any suggestions on getting someone to reassess our wage?

What is better hertz or Avis loyalty program? I have been on hertz (president circle status due to united status) and collected points a few free rental days now. But hertz always seems so much more expensive to me for personal trips and I end up buying Avis. Should I just shift to Avis? United has also ended its partnership with Hertz now, hence wondering.
