Anyone know information on IRS CI job? The experience, hours of work, travel time, needing to work on weekends. Do you need a CPA?

I am here to say that they have done some virtual hiring events and I went to one. Even though I did not stay for the entire thing, I saw a lot of people asking questions on the chat and all were responded. You can try that to gain more insight.

I work with IRS CI special agents and most of them seem to really like their job. If you’re into fighting financial crime it doesn’t get more exciting than that. They are law enforcement so they do work more hours (3 of those hours can be for exercise), and it’s less predictable than a desk job but they also get paid more for it and get a slightly better pension. When they start they have to go to FLETC for training for 6 months. They have forced retirement at 57 so you have be younger than 37 when you start. From what I’ve seen they really drive their careers, so they can work a lot if they are ambitious but you can also just coast. I don’t think you need a cpa but you need a lot of accounting credits.

Probably 45-50 hours. CFE wouldn’t hurt. Bachelors in accounting would get you close but probably need more. Read the job description or attend one of the info sessions the other poster mentioned to find out exact number of credits needed. Those info sessions/hiring events are very helpful and often lead to an interview.

Sharks and other fishes,
I need some career advice,
In my current company I think the development portion I've been given is kinda simple, I've asked my manager and seniors to level up my work and stuff, *which they did* but I kinda caught up.. now what should I do, should I ask them to level up again or look for better opportunities
Also, I had some Interest in CyberSecurity and I grinded it on my pre-final semester at Uni, should I try on that path as well or should I stick to development?

I've worked in hospitality for two years, but now the travel restrictions are lifting and I'm nervous; how busy does it usually get around Christmastime?

I’m about to give my notice at a firm I’ve been at for the majority of my legal career. They’ve recently offered me non-equity partnership (which I’ve accepted), w equity partnership on the horizon. However, I’ve been annoyed with their way of running the business and getting between me and my earnings far too long; and I received a lucrative offer to go in-house. I’m not looking forward to their reaction and feel bad about them having to take over my docket when everyone’s very busy. Any tips?
