Hi All,
Looking to make the move from working in industry to big4 and was curious as to what level and pay I might be worth?
I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

What do you mean asked to be made redundant? Do you mean you’ve been told you’re redundant?
Yes essentially, been offered 2 options:
1. Redeployment else where in the business but if unsuccessful, I’ll be made redundant
2. Enhanced redundancy package which is essentially a decent lump sum
I’m leaning towards option 2

What is the delta in $ between Option 2 and Option 1 assuming Option 1 ends in no more than the legislated minimum redundancy payments at a future point in time.
The "if it doesn't work out" timeline via Option 1 might well give you few months of employment.
Most firms have only just finished up their first round of redundancies. Expect more to come around Feb/March if pipelines don't improve.
Barring a niche/in demand skill, right now is not the best time to be in the job market (and needing a job, rather than wanting a change) if you have the option to stay put through to the December-January period.

In that case, if you're certain that your time in this new role will extinguish well I side the 21 weeks, take the redundancy.
