McKinsey & Company I had a second round of interview with McK 1 week back but no one got back to me yet.
I only received a link to login to McK website where the status my job application shows “In Progress”.
I am not sure whether it takes so much time for McK to respond after the second round. Is anybody aware of this?

Week of pay per year of service has been the policy everywhere I've been so far. More/special rules for senior management
Week of pay per year of service. I wasn’t laid off, but that’s what I hear. Rotten, I know.
It’s such a joke. 3 months would be more right, at least you don’t have to worry about next months rent.
2 weeks per year is pretty common. Minimum is usually 2 weeks. I was at a shop for 4 yrs once and only got 4 weeks, and I actually think they couldn't even afford that--they went bankrupt 2 months later.
Just happened to me. Ours was a week of pay per year, with a two week minimum provided for those who have worked a year or under .
1 week/year
5 weeks for HH recent layoffs
Same as many have posted. 1-2 weeks pay for every year, plus usually they have to buy out any unused vacation or personal time you’ve accrued. Good luck, hope it doesn’t happen!
RGA will give you an extra week of severance if they lay you off on your birthday.
Typically 1-2 weeks per year. However you can negotiate one up front in your offer contract. I was able to with my last job. But i don't think most companies would include.
Has anyone ever negotiated severance "in the room"? If so, how does this work?
I don’t recommend. Otherwise it could be construed as emotional. Don't sign anything until you consult with a few friends and possibly a lawyer. Dont burn bridges and try to do everything via email or lawyer
But don't they make you sign then and there "in the room"? Sorry, genuine questions.
^ No, they don't. You have time given to review and consult with anyone before signing.
And final question. What are people's experiences with the when and the where? Does HR/your manager put a meeting on your calendar? Does someone just pull you to the side? I've asked around but nobody in my office seems to have a common answer.
Never sign in room.
Typically he is on phone or in room. Usually manager delivers the news. Hr explains the package.
You either have a short meeting invite called check-in or something generic or you get pulled from your desk "do you have 5 min?"
Your manager with HR in the room deliver the news. You're given a manila folder with the separation agreement and letter. You have 1-2 days to review it. If you sign, you get severance. If you don't sign, you get nothing.
Copywriter, there are variations of this but it's generally a version of this. It's pretty civil. You'll very likely be asked to immediately leave. It's possible your manager, hr rep, or security go with you to your desk to grab your things while they "monitor", so you don't do anything crazy (lose your temper or make a scene) or take any company property including downloading files or sending emails. You can mail your signed agreement to them later and once they process it, they'll send you a check or wire the severance money. Lastly, the severance agreement is not that complicated or hard to understand. You get money in exchange for losing your right to sue later. This is in the U.S.
Any company that gives 1-2 days to sign a severance package is just wrong. I believe companies are required to give sufficient time for person to review especially since it’s a legal document. Some people hav an employment lawyer who reviews it. They charge a one time consultation fee and if you decide to proceed they get a percentage of the difference between the original vs renegotiated package
