I did. No signing bonus but you are treated much better this way. Also I was treated like I had worked the full year for purposes of regular bonuses.
I didn’t even have an interview. Just got lots of calls from random people at the new firm urging me to join.

Yes. Varies a ton. My partner had a ton of leverage (big book etc) and pushed hard to get his whole team so our interviews were more check the box. Other partners may not have as much leverage/push as hard for you so it may be a real interview. We did get a small signing bonus. This was a few years ago however.
I did. Got a signing bonus as well. Only interviewed with the partner that was bringing me along.

I did - lateraled with my whole group of 10-15 attorneys and staff several years ago. The associates sort of banded together (there were only 5 of us I think) on everything. We didn’t really have interviews. They brought us in as a group and told us about the firm and let us ask questions. We each had a 1-1 with the managing partner that we decided to use to make demands. A couple of us asked for class years, there were some partnership issues with senior associates, a couple people wanted the ability to WFH. We asked for bonuses separately via email through our old partners and they negotiated with the new firm. I think we ended up with $25k each.
