Do recruiters ever reply to any of these threads
Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

There have been some stories in the mainstream press lately about the ghost job phenomenon. I thought it was some kind of conspiracy talk or sour grapes, but it seems to be a real problem. Hiring managers have admitted to posting jobs they don't intend to fill, sometimes just to make the company look more vibrant than it is. They're wasting the time of people who really want to find work, but somehow that doesn't bother them.
It’s a huge problem. You are out there applying run into issues like ghost posting or a scam.
Never LinkedIn my friend. Specialty agencies just for us. Do not trust a thing on LinkedIn. It’s actually become flooded with bots and overseas resume stashers.
I am wondering the same thing because I have never gotten a call from any jobs I applied for on LinkedIn. No wonder even after it says 100 persons apply for a job it is still there 2 weeks after.
Fact. I would stay away from 3rd party job postings and a big red flag is “100+ people applied” on LinkedIn.
I've heard a lot about this, I'm not sure I've ever stumbled across one though. Any particular warning signs to look out for?
It’s the job is too good to be true, it’s probably fake lol
My back of the envelope estimate is 2/3 of anything posted by 3rd party contingent search firms is BS. Warning signs are the posters…Selby Jennings, Pinpoint, etc. the usual suspects are suspect.
I agree. I try to stay away from 3rd party job postings.
I've send untold amounts of job pays by a recruitment company called Mondrian Alpha.
See the example I've posted. Trade support paying up to £90k, that's perfectly reasonably but with a potential of upto 100% bonus! That level of compensation is above what many execution traders are paid. I see so many posts from this recruiter promising compensation for roles that very, very rarely pay the compensation that are quoting. Another red flag is that it's always only their agency that has these rules on their books. I've never, not once seen any other agency pussy jobs that come even close.
I've even put my CV forward for a role that I would have been now than qualified for (my last role was at Associate Director level for an investment bank). I heard nothing back.
Oh and alot of the time they are claiming a signing kn bonus. I've never heard of that for a year support role (I'm happy to be corrected on any of the above)
I can't figure out why they would post roles that clearly don't exist.
Thanks for sharing. My goal is to make people aware and try to save some time and energy. If you can ID the ghost and fake job postings faster, hopefully you can move on and focus on the real applications.
