Anyone still sponsoring grad degrees? Found out recently that’s no longer an option here (due to financial performance 🙄), so I’m thinking of leaving for somewhere that does (in the next year or so, not in a rush). Thought I’d check first to make sure my head’s not in the clouds. Is that still a thing??

Friend works at Deloitte and says yes though there are hoops to jump through. Theoretically, that’s our policy too. Digging deeper gets you a no. Looking for experiences, not a “policy says”.

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team. I felt like I was lowballed during my offer, and my negotiation salary was denied since this is technically my first “professional” job. Pt 2 in comments:

Is it naive to hope that there could be a job out there that I actually LIKE doing as opposed to just forcing myself to do it for the paycheck? Very specific to retail and/or hospitality in-house roles: has anyone found a good solution for predictive scheduling? Our retail division has one set of software for scheduling and one for payroll, and neither of them can handle predictive scheduling compliance issues unless they’re used for both the scheduling and payroll functions. I joined KPMG a while ago from federal consulting. Federal consulting had super good work life balance but I’ve been working at KPMG strategy for a while now. The hours are wild, my managers expect perfection, and I feel like it’s all meaningless. Does anyone else feel like this, how have you dealt with it, and is it like this once you go into industry?
