I’m confused. Priority Pass is a lounge access membership program, most useful outside the US, and a version of it is included with an AMEX Platinum card.
Are we really taking about Clear?
Yes, I’m referring to the lounge access membership program. I didn’t want to upgrade to my regular AMEX Platinum Card because I already have global entry and I know one of the main reason folks get it is to get the credit towards signing up for Precheck/Global entry. I hope I’m making sense? Lol
Depends on what airport you're flying out of regularly. Showing up at LGA on a Monday morning when EVERYONE in the airport is pre-check, then Priority Pass is helpful. But if you're regularly flying out of a smaller airport, it's probably not worth it.
Not sure you understand what priority pass is
Depends on the airport. Some lounges will restrict use of Priority Pass. For example, in PDX, most of the time they have the sign out that those with Priority Pass won't be allowed. There are other benefits, like the $28 credit on some airport restaurants.
Priority Pass comes with sapphire reserve. Pretty much useless
I basically get a free meal or a couple of drinks out of it when I’m traveling home.
Completely depends on your airport though.
I’m a fan of my priority pass. I get it through my CSR, and I use it whenever I’m not flying Delta. Most airports have either a lounge or a food credit that goes along with it. In my opinion, it’s worth it totally
The Global Entry thing is only worth $20/year anyway, so that should barely be a consideration when deciding whether to spend $550/year on a credit card. I use Priority Pass, albeit mostly outside the US, and like it. The Centurion lounges are quite good if you frequently travel through airports that have them. And FHR benefits can be worth a bunch. National Executive and Hilton Gold statuses are also worthwhile if you occasionally use those brands but not enough to get those status levels
there are a lot of reasons to get the amex platinum card, and some may be more relevant to you than others, but i’ll tell you one thing that’s almost universally irrelevant: priority pass
I only agree if you’re just a domestic flyer. PP is there for more lounge options abroad, which can be useful when traveling somewhere your airline alliance doesn’t have a lounge for you or you don’t have enough status to get into one and are in coach.
