I believe the correct answer is “growth” or “looking for a challenge”
But yeah real answer is usually money or I hate it here
“Loved my job but couldn’t pass up the opportunity”
"I got an opportunity with greater responsibility & chance to grow"
Because I worked there for almost two years and it’s time to go.
Can you read captain? It says “almost 2 years” 🤦♀️
What old school garbage question is this. 2 year turnover is perfectly acceptable, you leave for the same reason you’d leave in 3 or 5 or 10 years.
Dear Recruiter, it’s not illegal to quit a job. It’s the same as returning an item after buying it from Target, and it not being all that it was advertised to be. Don’t tell me you’ve never returned an item from Amazon. Just as return policies exist, and at-will termination policies need to be signed, I have the right to quit whenever I want.
I hate questions like this. I got asked a question like this once during an interview. From a 90yo guy during a NASA JPL interview. I told him the truth. Because I found a better opportunity (money) and I work to live, not live to work. Ultimately didn’t get a JPL job but that’s okay, because they keep reaching back out to find a fit for me. I’ll never go there, based on dumb interview questions like this.
My old firm was acquired and things just weren’t the same anymore

I spent 11 months at PwC before coming to Microsoft.
I told them it took me about six weeks to realize it was the wrong place for me- and shame on me for sticking it out for another 10 months. I then rattled off why Microsoft was the right long term fit for me.
all of this was true...I believe putting your best foot forward while also being candid is the best path
A1 - old school or not, I wouldn’t invest in someone that will probably jump somewhere else in a year or two. And they may be jumping because they are not that good and have to exit.

I’m in Applied intelligence, so it maybe different from other group’s. Just dysfunctional leadership and isolation with a sprinkle of politics.
