I attended more than 50 interviews in my whole career, and today I attended one of the worst interview ever. It was a telephonic interview. From the beginning his voice was breaking and the call had been dropped 2 times.I even hear the sound of vehicles on his background. When I told him, his voice was breaking, he behaved rudely.
In my mind I was like when this interview will stop.

Internal corporate strategy folks: what do you actually do? I know "corporate strategy" is a sexy title everyone wants, and that these roles are usually full of ex-MBB types, but I have no idea what these people do daily.
Searching the Internet has been useless in trying to figure out what internal corp. strategy folks actually do. Is it mostly cranking out decks and program managing a bunch of different initiatives?

BCG cross system staffing?

Let's say I want to work on oil and gas from SF, airlines from Denver, high tech (not old boring tech) from philly, etc. how easy would such staffing be to get?

I have interests in 2 industries - one of which is in my region, another of which is clearly only in another region/system.

Is BCG deteriorating in terms of culture and quality of people? The folks I’ve talked to recently (from BCG) are slip shod and not professional. Not sure if I had a “miss” but it seems across the board (comparing to McKinsey and Bain) that they are slipping in terms of caliber and reputation. Don’t even want to get into the decision to use a chatbot for interviewing 😳🙄

To what extent is BCG (USA) hiring again for summer interns? Are they hiring at full speed again? How are the chances compared to 1 or 2 years ago?

for ex, w/ crafting cases: there is a free 7-day trial w/ vids. do you think it would be a worthwhile investment to make flashcards of the content in the videos, study the content, then jump into mocks, or would it be best use of time to just go thru the vids/material, and immediately jump into mocks after w/o actively studying all the principles first?

What does a C2 make at BCG?

When being asked “why MBB”, is in-person working a legit reason?
I joined a T2 last fall and have so far worked in-person with team for 3 days in total. I’ve never traveled. I’m positive that this working style will last at least throughout this year
While I like what I do (and I believe I’m decently well at it), I want to get more in-person working and traveling opportunities to connect with my team

I’ve heard that AP/Principal/SM (the level immediately below Partner) is the hardest place to exit. Is this the prevailing wisdom you’ve heard, and why is it so difficult to exit at that level?

Most case coaches I saw online are ex-Mck or ex-BCG and surprise to find coaches from Bain who are currently still at the firm. Does Bain not have restrictions on consultants doing coaching as a side gig?
