Are any military officials from other countries willing to elaborate on what their life is like? Without deployments and such, what are y’all up to?

Got offered a pharma/healthcare role (currently work consumer side). 15% more than current role, lateral move, remote for now of course. Not sure if I should take the offer or not, given I have no experience in pharma & health. I said I would sleep on it. Advice?

My other half (currently a Sr. Mgr in the data analytics consulting industry in UK) wants to work in Singapore - is there some sort of parents' visa so that his parents can tag along to stay in SG for the long term? Worried about them as he is the only child. His parents have the money to buy a condo if it helps with their long term stay situation.

Sweaty post-workout question. If I finish a bike or run in the heat I am usually just pouring sweat for the next 15 or so mins. So I've gotten into the habit of just putting a towel or yoga mat down on the floor and laying/stretching until I am not going to throw sweat everywhere or step in to the shower and step out still sweating. There is a certain air of respect you get when you become a military professional. As long as you earn that respect, of course. But I like it, it feels good!

Am I the only one who fears a third world war is among us? I've been studying the circumstances that led to WW1 and WW2, and let me tell you, we're not as far as they were. I hope the better judgment of people avoids such a catastrophic outcome.

What was your primary reason for joining the military?

Getting into the military helped my feeling of abandonment due to my father's absence. It sounds funny, but being in the military showed me another type of parenthood that I needed.

For those that have been in awhile and looking closely at retirement. Are you switching careers or if you did how did it go? What advice would you give someone four years out from retirement?
