Are there good examples of communities that have succeeded in getting revenue from outside sponsors or even advertising? I like the idea of finding ways to support good communities out there as a means of both engaging with the right kinds of people AND giving back to community managers & owners who have invested in building their communities. There is plenty that is paid for by brands and quite a few monetizing through membership but what about sponsorship?

Is it a bad idea to commute to work on the subway? Moving to Nyc in July and a little intimidated by the idea, given what’s in the news lately, but the rent within walking distance from work is a little below 1/2 monthly salary🥲
