You have a shot but given ground traffic, you are better off getting an earlier flight. It really depends on your to and from and how padded the arrival time is.
Yeah that's pushing it but doable. A to C is a little walk but if you get off the plane fast and walk briskly you should be able to make it before doors close.
Thanks @Deloitte1! I tried to call American Airlines to see if I could switch to the earlier flight but there was a $75 change fee. Might try to go to the airport early and do standby for the earlier flight. If not it looks like I'm going to sprint to the gate-- I'm flying on my own dime to Sam Francisco
I live in PHL and know the airport well. I would try to get the earlier flight. It's doable but only if everything goes perfectly, and the 845 pm to SFO is the last of the night (taken it many times). That walk is 10-15 minutes depending on what specific gates you're assigned to - A13 or A26 or so to C30 would be among the longest possible walks. There are people movers between A-West-A-East, A-East-B and B-C that will help some. Honestly, I'm surprised AA sold a 33 minute connection, minimum connection time at PHL is 40 min for domestic to domestic with only a few exceptions for 30 minutes. If a schedule change on their part caused this tight connection, call back and get put on the earlier flight, they should do so without fee if that was the reason.
You'll be fine if you land on time. The terminals are all connected and not very far, but if you have even the slightest delay, it's risky. Fingers crossed for you!
Are you flying home or to the client site?
Doors close 10 minutes before departure. I've missed a connection arriving at the gate 8 minutes before and the door was closed.
Have your gate or flight attendant call ahead
Pwc1 thank you!!
