No, but I also understand I’m not very far along in my career. I do have some longer term goals to move into a better paying position. I do live in a lower cost of living area so that helps immensely, I still need to be very mindful of money. It’s tough, and only getting harder for a lot of us.

I feel the same way. Early on in career but inflation and housing prices have made life really tight for us the last few years. Nobody else seems to care though, the generations above us seem to have everything they want/need.
My salary is good and on par with surrounding districts. I could earn more if I moved beyond my M.Ed. My problem is cost of living and the things my kids like to do. Competitive Dance is an expensive sport… and we like to travel and eat out, go to the theater, concerts, and have fun. So… I could use more money but I earn a good living. If I stayed home more and my daughters did not dance, things would be affordable!

Makes sense, but you also need to make sure you are living and enjoying your life! It is a tough balancing act.
No way! As a Sped teacher, I make way less than the general education teachers at my school. Writing IEPs and IEP meetings are done on my own time, without pay, while the general education teachers get paid for staying after school for IEP meetings. Some of my “small” classes are bigger than some of the general education classes as well.
