Hiring managers: How is the interview process like at your company and how much say do you have when it comes to choosing that candidate?

I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.

I’m wondering how much influence the first manager has since I’m not sure what he’s writing

Our company is a small company with 80-100 employees in India, what the company does is ask us to track every single minute of our day, from getting into the office to what time we got up for lunch, tea, etc. for everything we have to put a log, do you guys think this is a healthy process for a company to grow? All the employees be frustrated that they have to go to office regularly and finish 9 hours somehow, a measured break time is also allocated.

I prepared a presentation for an interview with a sales leader, it went well and I was offered a final interview with regional manager. The sales leader I interviewed with gave me a bunch of feedback, but said to find out information about tech stack, which I for some reason, didn’t consider. I come to find out that deep, hidden within the website of the hypothetical client, they use the service already. Do I roll into the final interview and play dumb or do i present and then come clean?

I have 3 years experience being an account manager in a large brokerage. I got promoted to be a supervisor to a small team of account managers and started at $77k and have now increased to $83k 6 months later. I realized recently that I can turn my “super associate” persona at any time. I had it off during covid when my kids needed me and got a bad review. So now it’s back on. I’m responding to midnight emails (and daytime ones in under 20 minutes) and getting work done the same morning. I’m spending countless hours doing edits over edits. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
