Yes
Staff-Senior manager with CPA, industry pays WAY more. It hasn’t always been this way but in the past few years public accounting really didn’t keep up with compensation trends. But also Partner in public accounting will make the most.
D2, geography is important I guess. Right now as a senior after my promo raise there’s not an industry job in my region that can match what KPMG is paying me with 3 years experience, and I’ve looked.
I’m sure that’s not universal, though. But in some regions; now is the time to stay put in public.
Public accounting for sure. Doesn't make sense to go to industry now especially coz the raises in industry will still be very small, while you can start out at a higher base and also take advantage of higher salary increases in public accounting
SM1: I’m an S1. I was top of my peer group so they maxed out my comp.
Literally every max salary a recruiter is throwing at me now on LinkedIn is $5k lower than my post-promo salary. Average for my group is about the average I’ve seen in my inbox.
Only way I could get a raise quitting would be jumping to another B4. Now’s a great time to be a senior in public.
