Eric Silver’s resignation letter:
I set up a meeting with my direct boss 1:1 to tell her via Zoom chat, then my group director 1:1 right after that.
Then they’ll probably ask you to draft a formal resignation letter via email to send off to HR.
Agreed with the above- you don’t need to start the process with an official letter, that’s just something you’ll send to make things official after telling your boss. It would include something like “my last official day is x” just to have in writing.
When you talk to your boss, especially if it has been a good experience, just speak from the heart and say while you’ve loved your time and learned a lot, you’ve been offered an opportunity that will be great for your continued growth. They will likely be happy for you.
Also- never forget that it’s all business, never personal.
Whatever you do, do NOT send a “condolences card” stating your last day and saying “you’re so sorry for the agency’s loss.”
This crosses my mind every time... I hope it helps! 😁
I just shoot an email..... and say lmk if you want to chat
