Coach
I have more money than I will ever be able to realistically spend. There is no chance I would spend $3500 for a basketball ticket. I have spent $1k per ticket to see my team in the World Series, but $3500 seems stupid.
Sorry P1, if you had “more money than you’d ever be able to spend”, $3.5k is irrelevant.
Let’s say you have $50M. 3.5k is not a concern. At $100M, it’s not even on your radar.
I hope you are a knicks superfan.
Yes!!!
What if i told you the ticket you are looking at is going to be atleast $100k starting next year. Then would you buy $3500 ticket today for the experience?
In other words, don’t just look at the $ amount. If you really want to go see the game and can spend that much money without jeopardizing any major emergency funds, go do it! You have one life!
When you can buy it in cash and the spend doesn’t affect your lifestyle.

Any income, if:
The ticket really costs $3500 and there is no way to get it cheaper.
The ticket is my best use of $3500.
Spending that is consistent with a saving pattern that puts me on track to reach my financial goals.
As is, I'll probably watch it on television.
You can likely get a flight + better ticket in San Antonio for less than that
As long as it doesn't derail your plan, you should be fine. I'm all for experiences so I budget accordingly
game 6 or 7 maybe if had 10 times that in cash laying around. definitely not for game 1234 cause they don't even really mean anything.
