Hearts for DMs please, Thank you fishes 💙
Hi, I been working for Lloyds Bank for almost 9 years now , I recently attended a interview for Barclays and offered an Senior Business Analyst AVP role in Wealth and private banking area. I did not see much difference in the salary offered and it is pretty much same ie 68.5k.But the difference is current role is London based, however the Barclays one is based in Glasgow where cost of living is less in comparison. I am unable to decide whether to take the offer or not..any suggestions will be helpful pls.

I think Manager level at PwC has built in severance.
I think once you’re at a high-enough level where finding a job at another company is going to take months even in a good economy, some sort of contract is ideal. I would not put manager or even SM in that category though.
I have friends in other industries who start right out of college in contract gigs and it does not seem like something that is great for the worker. Sure you can’t be fired any day, but you also can’t quit.
I negotiated out of an at-will contract but with that came other stipulations like a non-compete
And that you can quit at any point in time eg you can’t get sued for breaking a contract. It goes both ways....
Usually at the Sm/director role in industry is when you have that leverage

I’ve never had an at will contract.
C-level it’s the norm that it’s a contract
