Atos Syntel Atos Syntel. State Street Syntel

There are approximately about 150-200 employees who are on notice period after resignation.
About 40-50 minimum resign per month willingly.

In such a scenario should not HR folks as these employees to exit first, rather than layoffs.?

What do you guys say?

Hello, in you 3rd sentence did you mean ‘HR folks ask?’ In that scenario, I understand from where you are coming from. However, we should also need to understand why layoffs are happening? It’s either performance issue or team got dissolved. In either scenarios the employee is not needed. Hence this system.

Sad but justified!

Your answer is tangent to what I asked.
Am saying there are resigned employees sitting on notice period, why are they still working in the company.
Here layoffs are happening due to Atos bad financials, not for performance.
So, wouldn't it be logical to save costs by exiting resigned guys instead of doing layoffs of employees on bench or buffer.
If project close employees can't be laid off, that a lame excuse. It's not as per rule or compliance.
Skills can be upgraded anytime not a big deal. In IT skills technology changes every 2 years. Just hiring outsiders and assuming they are better skilled is a gimmick. I've seen people with fake resumes joining in.

Looking for respectful ways to manage helping people in need of a job or seeking mentorship. I get 3-4 requests a week from mutual contacts asking if I can connect with a former colleague (always broad). Typically the ask is a 30-45 min call.
