So calmly got up said I’ll consult my lawyer and walked the fuck out of the office. They call me 5 hours later and offer me a deal that I said fine and took it
D7, you are not even listening. There are multiple cases of this happening which are being presented right now in this thread. I don't know what other evidence you are looking for. If you have more faith in a company and "how things are run" rather than what real humans are telling you that they are experiencing, fine. But don't sit here and hinder conversation.

What was their reasoning OP? How was your utilization?
I joined last October. Utilization wasn't that great as cyber seems to be short of projects. I asked for a reasoning but looks like nobody knows. Called my partner but he isn't responding clearly either. Just said that it was a management decision.

I seriously don't know if I should go for any legal language or negotiate further for severance pay with HR. I have always been a top performer at my previous firm and according to me was doing pretty okay here as well.
Considering if it was performance then don't you think they should have put me on a PIP plan and not just fire when I have not even completed a year here ??
@OP nope they do not. Not great that it is under a year but there most be some underlying reason. The firm is doing great so no need for layoffs for the heck of it at this time
Interesting. I just heard about the same thing happening in cyber in advisory to an analyst.
D7 : whatever the story is, it has to be out in the open so that employees can make their peace with that ! Without performance, compliance or utilization if someone is getting laid off or fired the management should provide some clear explanations. I understand there is 'management will' involved but it isn't fair and square all the time !
But no systemic layoffs at Deloitte happening, would not make sense post-bonus payout fellas
