Based on what I’ve seen in almost every bowl here, I’m fortunate to have a job—especially at over 50, working in the creative department of an agency. But the truth is, I’m constantly burnt out and stressed. I know when my day starts, but I never know when it will end, including weekends. I’ve been wanting to transition to a slower-paced job, something outside the grind, but so far, no luck. Not to mention that I feel pretty phased out. I’d love some advice from my peers here.

I have an offer to join a startup as an APM. The only downside is that the engineering team is located offshore in India. I’m concerned about the resulting impact because of 1) the potential late night calls 2) the learning opportunities missed by not working with a US engineering team (communication tactics, translatable skills) 3) potential exit opps into FAANG pm roles due to not having experience with an onshore eng team. For the people who earned the SHRM-CP, did you feel it was worth it? I have an indirect HR position, been applying for more HR focused positions and wondering if this would help. Have you seen women wear ties and "masculine"-looking suits to work? Was it accepted by client and team? I've never worn a tie to work, but when I've worn clothing that had a more "masculine" fit either in grad school or some work environments, I've gotten comments and looks, or sometimes asked (or people gossiped) about my orientation. When I wear more "feminine"-looking clothing, I feel more more uncomfortable and awkward. 🤷🏼‍♀️
