Believe in yourself and have faith in your story/experiences!! You got an interview for a reason (didn’t get an interview myself lol). Best of luck my friend!! Let us know how it goes

like

Remember you guys are essentially evaluating each other. Would I as a PL want you working for me? And would you want to work with me? I always found that approach helped me maintain confidence and perspective

helpful

What position and practice?

What level? I am interested in BCG too.

Which office?

And good luck!!!

Also did you have a referral?

Thank you M1 and A1! PwC I did have a referral

How did you prep? How much time did you spend preparing? Good luck!

Try to be calm and confident (at least outwardly). Be yourself and be friendly. Approach the case as a fun problem to solve with your interviewer and explain your thinking in a clear and structured way. Know that your interviewers will talk to each other afterward so don’t tell the same story to both. That’s it!

Good luck!!

Remember your brand. You are Gucci. Stick to your positive attributes. And make sure you crush the f’ing case. Take your time. Build roadmap. I was turned down twice from them which I think was mostly tied to not having a mba from top 10

^MBA location doesn’t matter once you’re in the interview, only performance in the interview

BCG2 I think that’s B.S. I outscored a buddy of mine who’s a P&MD on my first go around and didn’t get the second round. Had I had a harvard MBA think they would have let the very minor items I missed in the case go.

^How do you know how you scored in the interview?
Also, I went to state schools for my undergrad and post-grad education. And I don’t mean UPenn

OP how did it go?

There’s no way you know the scores you both got. I don’t have an MBA or a PhD but got hired as a consultant. It really is how you perform on case AND fit.

I knew my scores because my friend the P&MD told me. And he knew his original scores. Just saying. Think there is a strong bias towards top degrees

Aw man I didn’t make it to the next round 😞 follow up question how to deal with rejection? Haha

Sorry to hear, OP! That’s rough but you will find the right fit :)

I'm a first yr attorney at an insurance firm and am in the process of interviewing for an in-house position at a tech company. The position is pretty much generalist, but I get the impression I'd be working mostly on SaaS and partnership transactions. I definitely think I would like the transactional work better, but I am concerned about the long-term earning potential vs. partnership. How common is it to eventually make $400k+ in-house/how difficult is it to transition back to a firm? Thanks!

I (Spring Boot + Angular, FS, 6 YOE) interview candidates at the product company I work for.

People just show up with no prep. I interview for 4-6 YOE and these people aren't even expecting to write a single line of code. Even questions like "find the lesser of the two angles between the two hands of a clock, given the time" or simple geometry problems that don't need DSA knowledge is too hard to attempt.

They claim they know Angular/React/Spring without knowing basic Javascript/Java. 😒
