Been ghosted by several recruiters now and I'm thinking about taking a course on applying for jobs in a way that guarantees a round of interviews.. is this a wild idea?

How do you keep from getting discouraged while job hunting? I’ve had 3 final round interviews in the past month and gotten passed over each time. Their reasoning is always “we went in a different direction”. Each of the interview processes was 4-5 interviews so it’s a big time commitment and really gotten my hopes up each time.

Does anyone else balk a little bit when applying for jobs and the recruiter or job description mentions a lot of blog writing and other content like that?

My first nursing job interview- I sat underneath an automatic sanitizer dispenser. Got sprayed halfway through my interview LOL Definitely the cleanest thing I've ever been sprayed with!

I just started with a company as an HR Generalist. Within the 3 weeks of being there, my boss’s boss left, and today I found out my boss gave notice. HR is not valued at the company and it’s disheartening to know I was hired into a mess. I am now actively looking but how do I explain to other employers why I am actively looking and what do I put on my resume? I have never had to deal with this before.

Been in sales for 7 years (door to door,telecom,BDR,) I interviewed for a closing position and after submitting a demo presentation and 2 mock emails they have moved be forward for the last “wrap up call”. Any tips and advice for this?

Does this mean I’m being highly considered? Or are they just going along like many companies do. This is a Norway based Saas company.

How long does it take for PwC to send out rejection email? I interviewed with the team like a month ago, the recruiter called me the next day and told me that congrats, everyone likes me and told that they were working on my official offer. 3 weeks later, nothing. How do you deal with an HR that ghosts you after 3 interviews that went really well? I landed an offer at Deloitte as a sr. consultant, and then negotiated for a managerial role. I was told all interviewers were really happy with me so she would be glad to arrange a reevaluation for the new role(I was interviewed by 2 Sr. Managers & an MD for Sr. Consultant role and will have to take another round with a partner for the managerial position). I tried following up thrice after, no response.

I had two interviews with two people at different companies and each time the interviewer had their camera off stating that they are having connection issues. Is that acceptable for candidates to do?

Can someone share your thought of how to deal with this situation. I am completely lost in terms of my mental health. Not able to overcome and accept this situation. I think this is right place to ask, as we all are going through the same.

I’ve been lay off this afternoon because low performance, it just two weeks ago I talked to my manager and told her that she’s micromanaging me a lot and I need more autonomy at my work. I didn’t like what they’ve done to me specially I’ve been redundant from the previous role before joining this company. I cannot sleep please any plan’ action and what to answer for the reason why you leave your company? I’ve been in 3 jobs for the last 2 years.

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭
