Had a final round at BCG last Friday. After the interviews they said that the would release results today. Then I got an email today saying they will only give the results on the next Friday. What could have happened?? I also know some people how interviewed on the same day as mine and got a rejection email today.

1.Interviewer didn't ask any technical questions. I had only one interview.
2. Evening itself I got call that i was selected and ready to discuss salary.
3. Last year it was under IT raid because of pro particular political party

I have been following up and they always said that they are still reviewing all the other task from the candidates. They said they will give an updates twice after following up every week. Received a verbal offer/commitment from the engineering team 3 weeks after my interview process. Still sitting and waiting (1.5 weeks) to have the conversation about compensation expectations and finalizing the offer. Is the Google hiring process typically this slow?
