Im strongly considering an MBA. Only thing that deters me is cost. I’ve heard of some tier 1 firms that will offer tuition reimbursement for returning interns post-MBA, how common is that? Also considering pivoting to a firm that offers scholarships. Any tips/insight on this? Thank you!

I have to express my fears somewhere. I think I failed both my graduate classes (teaching math and the other was Climatology fundamentals). My fault I know, so much going on at work caused me to be to tired that I struggled staying awake to eat dinner! My fault I didn’t express this stress and missed a few assignments. And you know what else stress does- makes it hard to learn and retain. If our students feel that way…that explains many things. Prayers that I did well and don’t fail.

Had to travel this weekend. A few observations. the plane was least the nerve wracking part of the entire experience. Everyone wearing masks. Middle seats open [SWA]. Plane was spotless.

Airports were empty. Most people wearing masks.
Long lines for food in the airports. Generally social distancing in lines.

Ubers have been stressful, but otherwise ok.I’m going to go wash my hands again.

Well I recently told a guy I have been seeing I have HSV-2. We have not yet been physical but it’s been heading that direction. Man I hate this part - waiting to see what his response will be after he researches and talks to his doctor. I’m on daily meds which help reduce transmission risk. You’d think that since HSV-2 affects 20% of Americans and likely a higher % of gay men, there would be less taboo but it’s hardly ever talked about. Anyone else in my shoes? I’ve worked at a few shops and have encountered maybe 2-3 account mgrs who worked to sell good work and protect timelines. Lots of box-checking.

I’ve been seeing all of the Instagram and Linked In posts from agencies in town showing their “commitment to transparency in hiring” and to hire more minorities in light of the BLM movement. I knew the numbers were bad, but holy shit, not THAT bad.
It’s infuriating to me, as a POC how many fucking times I applied, emailed and reached out to so many of these agencies without getting even the time of day.
I’ll believe their supposed commitments, when I actually see the results.
