FAANG Exit to MBB?
3.5 YOE, Non-technical, 150k TC
Been at Alphabet my entire career post-undergrad. Managed to move from Google to a well-respected Bet where I’m very happy. Undergrad was a pretty general liberal arts degree and haven’t pursued grad school yet.
What would it look like (from a TC + long term career standpoint) to switch over to MBB for a year or two then go back to FAANG?
I cleared my CA in July 2021 attempt and have completed my articleship from EY. Please let me know about opportunities in Management/ Strategy Consulting or Investment Banking. Your assistance would be highly appreciated. Thanks!MBB McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group Booz Allen Hamilton
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

McK fish: do y’all hire BA’s with 1 yoe?
Somehow made it to Bain and BCG second rounds (AC level) - question for all the smart folks in this bowl is, what is the difference between first and second rounds in demonstrating certain competencies/skills/qualities? How can I ace the second round to get the offer? I’m confident in passing the airport test so looking at where else to focus. Many thanks! Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group

Fixed.
I only do life sciences and would honestly say we are the clear market leaders. Objectively is one of the practices where we hold the tightest relationship with all the major players. Doesn’t happen in many industries tho
100%. It’s one of our strongest areas.

My perception was that Mck is the market leader here.
Bain is strong in LS PE, but small presence in LS for general case work.
Bain is not a player in the life sciences. It's between the other two and a few T2/Boutiques like LEK, ZS etc.
Bain is a long way behind, we only have a couple of big accounts
Huge push in the space though, investing lots in partner hires and junior hires with relevant expertise
Yeah unlikely we have the same share as McKinsey given it is ~20% larger by global revenue.
