Best practices for a graceful exit? B4 audit SM here thinking about making an exit this summer - dreading the uncertainty that comes with starting something new after being with the firm since graduation, but more so than that feeling anxious about having to tell my clients, partners and teams. I know they’ll be ok without me, but it still feels weird because I have zero experience leaving a job.

IMO just leave — you’ll find out that most of the partners / higher ups won’t be happy for you, and will just be pissed to lose (another) good person. Spoken from experience

Consider yourself lucky!! Just as likely to have all the fake camaraderie evaporate when you jump off the train

I left this summer. Hated telling 1-2 partners that I'm felt were very close mentors/friends. The rest of the people I considered it part of everyday life/business.

Keep it professional. All the people I discussed with were very supportive and appreciative.

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

I have worked in marketing for about 6-7 years. First few years were in social media management. My goal is to work at a big tech company.

I’ve heard mixed results about the ROI of earning an MBA. My near future goal is to move into a Marketing Director (or senior manager) role.

1) How much does Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. value MBAs in the hiring process?

2) Anyone currently working at the companies above with only a BBA?

Current situation: Marketing Manager, 90k, NYC.

I'm accepting an offer with a new company... Start in early Aug. Senior Manager role, though in this company that equates to Manager at most consulting farms. They did not had hunt me. I came to them for the job.

I have COVID delayed vacations planned for the last week in August and the first week in October.

Should I just cancel one of them? Or should I at least put both on the table and see what they say? They're going to hire me either way, but I wonder if it's a bad start to ask for both.
