Between the layoffs and people leaving the firm on their own accord, should we be worried about how the remaining work will be executed? Anyone think utilization rates are going to shoot up?

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

Do any of you struggle with feeling like you owe other people. Or I guess owe your employer, company, team etc to put in your best effort? I think I feel this way but to the point of it being detrimental. And I’m not sure how to fix or change it. Recommendations on how to switch of out advertising? I’m so over media strategy and want to switch into something different. I’ve toyed with UX strategy or design but would also be happy with doing something in marketing that I actually care about and have fun.

Does anyone else suffer with paralysis? Mine is so bad I don’t even know what to do anymore. Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work. Every time I have talked to a partner/senior manager I was told I don’t have the skill set they’re looking for, but I don’t know how to build up from there.
