They might be taking advantage of the market. If you are in need, take it without sharing and quit when something better comes. 98k is not even good for a senior.
If it’s Hyatt, just let me get the job please. $98K would be fine with me.
I know the hotel corp (I’ve worked there in house before) and I can tell you the people are great, the environment is great, and so is the WLB. You may not make groundbreaking work (we didn’t in my time there) so it’s significantly less stressful. I’m in a similar position where I was an ACD, got let go and had to take a demotion to senior bc that’s what was available. It’s definitely a humbling experience but then I realize I’m paying bills and my kids are fed.
I came back from that interview: I thought I was going to nail it because I was overqualified and the interviewer was a Sr Cw. Well, lo and behold, the man was a former GCD for a competitor and had to take the Sr CW role because he was struggling to land a job anywhere else. *insert spidermen pointing at each other meme*
This truly feels like a Jim Carrey movie.

Take it. Never admit you are working for less on an interview. They have no way of checking. Take the job because without a job hiring mgrs will look down upon you if you are unemployed. It shouldn't matter but it does.
