Your Strategy & Operations title is ridiculous.
Now the experts are more valued given how client demand has changed. Not only EMs but even for Associates they want people who have subject matter expertise. If you have a offer take it without second thoughts.
Here’s my take:
1. Pretty much same 2. Non-partner comp is roughly the same as generalist I believe at each level. So it depends a bit on what level you’d hire in at 3. Same as generalist 4. Same 5. I have never worked at Deloitte so I have no clue 6. Yes there is an Expert Partner track.
So I’m a generalist actually and I’ve never noticed it nor heard it mentioned that way. Often our clients want deep expertise. So to clients they actually have more credibility usually.
No- not less prestigious, just different.
5. Equivalent level at Deloitte 6. Is it partner track. Thanks!
You probably have to be well regarded / respected in your field. Published, authored, invited to speak at specialty conferences, asked to appear on media for quotes, etc
I heard it was less prestigious than generalist
Less prestigious to who? And at what level?
Thanks McK1!
Mck1 less prestigious than a Generalist - to the generalists in the firm. Friend working there has mentioned it a few times. Presumably because a generalist is seen as being able to do "all the things" but a specialist can only focus on one particular job
