Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.
Help!

HBS or GSB for nonprofit/philanthropy?
First time founder hoping to get som feedback from the startup community. I launched an angel investment network trying to fill the need for a purely introductory based network vs a variable fee/crowdfunding. The goal or this project is to maximize the number of introductions. I just redid our investor signup page and would be very grateful for any sign ups and feedback. It’s completely free and should only take about 30 seconds.

OP you are so full of crap. You are just another capitalistic white collar worker so stop this mindfunk
OP are you sure you are job hunting and not matchmaking? Wth do you mean by suburban Nd settled?
From the roles I've had previously I've come to recognize that cultural fit can be even more important than what your day to day duties actually are. When I was onsite for Google, the team I spoke with seemed like many people just deeper in to the suburbs to their families. There wasn't a strong sense of comraderie in the office and for me it's important to see how the team coalesces around the product they are delivering. Being in my mid 20s I would prefer that the office was more cohesive and that they were excited for the product or value that they are adding.
This is dumb. I interviewed with google in NYC and their culture is very young, highly driven, and challenging. I think you’re taking a few interviewers life stages and extrapolating it to the whole company
@A1 I explicitly qualified the idea with the location & team. The various teams and locations may be significantly different. However, I don't expect people to specifically know of the data science or product team specific cultures by office so I am starting from the top here and working from bottom directly with the recruiters and current employees on the teams.
I think the reason people find issues with your post is because you’re taking three gigantic companies and making statements based on a few interactions that you wouldn’t fit in there. There’s plenty of people at these companies, you’ll be fine.
@A1 Makes sense. I didn't realize I didn't add the team specific component. You're right, I shouldn't generalize and I should be more precise with my language. Regardless, the Amazon teams I spoke with took their principles very seriously while the team I met with at Google didn't seem to fit me very well.
What specifically do you need from people here, OP?
Not trying to put you down, but I’m unable to identify what you’re looking for. If you know that you didn’t jive well with the teams that you’ll be brought into, that’s reason enough to not want to go there.
@SC1 : That's a good point. Ideally I'd like a better understanding on the cultures of tech firms relative to one another. I don't know anyone at or much of anything about Facebook so my questions are particularly broad and vague. I added additional context on the initial question to attempt a baseline from which people could provide their insights.
Tell them all your secrets, they won't sell them to anyone.
Which team are you looking to join in FB? I accepted their offer recently
This is extremely hard to do. Even within accenture I find it hard to summarize our culture since comparing my current team to my last is black and white
@A1 When I was at ACN I found that culture was more project or account specific. I ultimately left because an MD was toxic and his mindset permeated throughout the account.
OP you too much of a drama queen
I can speak for amazon. Was there for 2+ years then went to tech firm. Amazon definitely practices the leadership principles more than anything, especially customer obsession. I have rarely found that at IBM and definitely felt like "a number" instead of in a cohesive group. While Amazon doesn't provide enough good internal culture, I never felt unstable with my job there.
