In spite of having applied for many jobs at Citi (including the referrals), I have not got any calls from Citi.
I do not understand what's wrong with my profile ! I do get calls from other Captives but not from the Citi.
Are there any hacks to get calls from Citi ? Citi @citibank

Yes and no. You can contribute to your traditional IRA and immediately convert it to Roth. You report the Trad contribution on your 2021 taxes as non-deductible. The conversion was done in CALENDAR 2022, so is a 2022 activity. You would need to file an 8606 for the 2022 conversion of your funds, regardless of what year the contribution was originally tagged to.
Contribution = tax year
Conversion = calendar year
If you haven’t filed your return yet. If you have, I think you still can but will be messier. You actually don’t do a backdoor Roth for the year. You can make your traditional contribution for 2021 still. The conversion would be a 2022 event.
Yes you can contribute for both 2021 and 2022 into a traditional Ira right now. Then immediately convert it all.
