I'm aware where it's from. Does that change anything I said? It's still another useless reply from friends from Deloitte.
“Explain it to me like you would to a slightly above average golden retriever.”
I guess I should have tagged this as "serious"
@BCG1, noo 😱🤦♂️
Always shocking to me how BCG manages to confuse its own people.
@OP, here you go:
BCG - "Classic" = Generalist Management Consulting
Platinion - Digital Platforms Products, Services = Engineering/Design/Product/Architecture/Tech
Omnia - BCG's internal product unit. They build and maintain internal BCG product IP (like proprietary software used on engagements or productized for clients
Gamma - Data Science (Both client facing and internal development work)
Digital Ventures - Incubate and launch startups with established clients and spin them off into ventures.
@OP, you should ask yourself--if I want to do Healthcare and be client-facing, what kind of work is for me? And what skills do you bring to the table?
Omnia is out. Gamma only if you're a data scientist. DV only if you want to try and build new startups and ventures. Platinion if you want to sit at the intersection of strategy meets actual creation. General BCG if you want to do payer/provider strategy etc.
Pro
I think you’d want the generic BCG role. Platinion would be for CS and IT folks wanting to specialize. Omnia is like logistics I think?

Is Gamma still a thing?
Yes Gamma specializes in data science projects
