McKinsey & Company Does level and/or office matter for referrals at McKinsey & Company? A friend is willing to refer at the Associate level in my target office though I did not get any traction w/ the referral last year. I'm a Veteran so I also recognize there may be a resume translation issue despite the prior version getting me interviews with BCG and Bain. I have updated the resume since - though still wondering if there's anything else I can do to strengthen my case. Thank you in advance for any advice.

No MBA you come in as an associate. There are some people who get promoted to Consultant without MBA, but they generally been at the firm since graduating undergrad. You can try and come in as an A2, which is just one step removed from Consultant.
Title doesn’t really concern me. My experiences are useful and make me better at some things, but they don’t translate to 10 years of experience at this company. Be prepared to work for someone younger than you, but they are also better at working the BCG way and definitely will have a lot to teach you.
I think you can make a case for Consultant (although then MBA sponsorship etc. may be off the table). Comp would be 165k base.
