So.... You get 16 weeks paid plus any PTO you have?
I don't work at ACN but I know FMLA doesn't provide you any time off. It just guarantees you come back to a job 12 weeks later. I would also see if ACN offers short term disability on top of your 16 weeks parental leave. At Deloitte we get 6 weeks short term disability (8 if c section) and then 12 weeks parental leave....then you can PTO. However also keep in mind sometimes if you take more than 6 months your company expects you to start paying your own health insurance. Worth looking into.
Yes. Plus did you know we do PTO transferring? So if you have colleagues who know they won't be using their time off, they can give it to you.
Oh wow. That's pretty amazing. Good to know for when I finally find someone to knock me up 😘
FMLA just means they keep your job for 12 weeks. It doesn't provide you any paid time off.
A1- does that create a black market for pto?
D1, thank you. We do get short term disability, I was thinking it was the same as FMLA, lol.
Acn1, so I looked more into it after D1 clarified the difference between FMLA and STD, lol. So I understand it to be that we get 16 weeks leave, plus 8 weeks STD, plus any PTO. Is this correct?
From what I understand, STD is very hard to get. There had to have been complications or something. I'm not sure about it- so don't quote me on it. But why don't you call peoplelink tomorrow?
Haha. No idea. But I know we had an email go out a few months back to help a guy who's daughter was diagnosed with cancer and we could donate money and/or PTO for him to be able to spend the time with her.
Acn1 I called HR (people line) they only confused me more. But, I spoke with someone who just came off of Maternity leave and she took the 16 weeks plus STD (she had no complications) and then another 3 weeks in PTO. From what she said (she's had 3 kids while at ACN) STD is standard 8 weeks after pregnancy, no questions asked, but can be longer if you have complications. So she had 27 weeks of paid leave.
Op, for real? I understood the company offered up to 16 weeks total (8 weeks std plus 8 weeks parental), then PTO. If it's more than that, I'm super excited. Currently pregnant but haven't met with my case worker yet.
ACN 2, that is what she told me. I even repeated her words to make sure I understood correctly, lol. I am hoping that is the case.
