Can someone give insight into BCG Platinion? Salary band for SC’s? Is it worth switching from Deloitte to BCG-P?

Depends what you want to do and reasons for shifting? I personally have found it to be a bad move. Don’t believe the hype, you’ll do the same work that Deloitte do but at a lower position. You’ll be treated second class, and trust me it impacts your happiness. Your technology skills will erode as you become a lower point monkey explaining basic tech concepts to core resources. Your client interaction will be minimal - you are a back office functions. You won’t get the skills you need for the future - project management etc. Think long and hard but I’d say 80% of my ex-big4 peers are dissatisfied with the move

Would depend what you wanted to exit as. As I mentioned you won’t get any project management or client relationship experience so hard to step out into leadership role. Maybe if you wanted to leave as a solution architect? Also, depends if you want to stay in tech. People don’t go to BCG to find tech resources. I’m saying that, it may help you get noticed. But your skills will really suffer in the meantime and if you think about what your competitors for those roles are learning over those three years while you’re doing PowerPoint, are you really equipped for those roles?

Counterpoint- do it. SCs start around 130, 15-30% bonus. Unrivaled benefits. If you want to push yourself, this is your chance. We’re doing high impact work with much more senior clients than D. That said, all chapters not created equal. What are you looking at?

I just made this move. Do it. Less pressure, don’t have to worry about constantly being on a case, no firm initiatives really, you can try different kinds of work, but it might not be as exciting depending on case (mostly strategy work even in Platinion), great benefits, looks good on resume. Agreed it’s a lot of PowerPoint.

Do you mind me asking your salary? Trying to figure out what SC and Manager ranges are

In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?

Quick scenario: If I have a consulting offer from a different Big 4 that has a start date post-10/15, so that in theory I would not have to submit a 2 weeks notice until post-10/1 (bonus payout date) but I sign the offer pre-9/30, am I obligated (looking for both legal & professional standpoint) to tell PwC because it is with a competitor? This is essentially the exact same group at the other big 4

Anybody work at Amazon? Are their offers negotiable? My husband got an offer for a senior position in the VA office paying $120k plus $20k bonus plus 13 shares of stock that vest over 4 years. My husband has ~6 years of experience (2 yrs midsize PA plus various industry roles) so the senior title is low but have heard you have to take a step down in title to work at Fortune 25 companies. He likes the offer but not sure if he should negotiate for more because it’s expected?

Question— do you share your comp with close friends? Me and my roommate have been friends forever and while I don’t really share my specific pay, Im not sure if I should share it with her. When she got promoted she told me her comp tho I didn’t ask. Today I found out I was promoted (🎉) and left that part out. She asked me if I knew what my raise would be and I just told her the % but not the actual amount. Is that unnecessarily secretive? We’re in diff industries too.
