I think it’s fine to pass on breakfast without seeming rude. But if you pass on free coffee, you have no soul.
I wouldn’t pass on free coffee 10 minutes before i go to bed.
Be honest. I’ve noticed people appreciate that. Say: “I’m working on a hot bod here. Thanks--but no thanks.”
Say you’re on Keto and maintain steady eye contact as you eat the tub of butter with a spoon like yogurt
Just say you’re not hungry if anyone even asks. You don’t have to eat food you don’t want to to be polite
This total and complete fear of the client is getting to ridiculous levels. It’s a bagel.
This fear exists for me everywhere i go, has nothing to do with the client.
I like to treat people and if they don't accept i lose a tiny bit of joy.
I don’t think people notice either way if you eat something or not. Do what you want.
Eat the bagel
Tell them you hate bagels.
YOU’LL EAT THAT BAGEL AND LIKE IT!
If you think staying in their good graces is hanging by a bagel, then I think you’ve lost that battle already.
Just to show you mean business... stack all the bagels and swallow it slowly from the top like a snake
I think there is a bigger issue here. Have some confidence. You don’t need social media to decide if you are going to eat a bagel. You can do this!
This suspense is killing me. OP, did you eat the bagel?!? 😱
Bagels make me sick for some reason. Don’t know why. Combo of gluten & dairy. It’s almost as sad as eggs making me sick. You could always say you just ate breakfast
Urgh. Pretty much. I mean I could have far worse ailments like celiacs or a peanut allergy which I’m grateful I don’t have. Or even a shellfish allergy would suck.
Please don’t feel guilty about taking care of yourself and doing what you need to do. It has nothing to do with the clients. I suppose the biggest obstacle we all have as adults is how to turn down a bagel. But I truly believe you can do it. I mean this in a nice way but no one will care.
It’s going to be awkward if everyone in the room feels as you do and they decline the bagel first. So then you step in and be the hero. You take that bagel, pile it with cream cheese, stuff it in your face, chumming with the client who will LOVE YOU for being so collaborative and fun. Then skip lunch, go for a walk it’s not that bad, it won’t kill you.
Consider it a win that your client was nice enough to bring bagels. You do not have to eat it
Eat half a bagel. You will be fine.
No, not the point
Tell them you work for a competing bagel client
No one cares half as much as you think they so. Just don't make a big deal out of it and you're fine.
