Cloud solutions architect question for anyone involved in this.
Does it matter which cloud service provider you choose to learn and grow as a solutions architect? From a foreigner’s standpoint, one would think the skill set required for cloud solution design and migration work which is what a solutions architect
Does, should be the same across different cloud services (Oracle SAP AWS Azure, etc). Like if you learn one, it’s easy to jump to another. Lmk if this understanding is wrong.

I have been working as mainframe developer for around 8 years. From last year, working on requirement analysis and team management activities. I want to move into java full stack developer profile as I am not interested in management work. I know that being 8+ YOE guy and considering my tech background, it would be difficult to transition, but I am really depressed with my work profile. Is it fair to say once you’re an LS consultant you can always fall back to a tier 2,3 firm? For context I’m looking to go from consulting to a hospital implementation role.

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

Also doing MBA part time at a T15 school. Thinking about switching to IB but I’ve done my research and I think I would burn out of IB in two years but I might be ok with that for the opportunities after.

Does industry have billable hours? At the big 4, we are required to work a certain number of hours each week and if we spend too much time on anything we are questioned on why it took so long. Is that a thing when you go in industry?

Hello! just got an offer from Amazon for Global Product Marketing Manager for PAE (payments).
TC: $223k for 1st year (156k base, $64k sign on for 1st year and $50k for second year, with 46 shares - vesting 5% on 1st year anniversary, 15% on 2nd year and 20% every 6months on 3rd and 4th year).
I understand this is a L6 role and would like to understand where I am in the total comp range (from a %) and what is the max this role and level and pay (given that I understand next salary jump to L7. Tx!
