What do you all think of Snowflake's businnes, stock and IPO? It is database business and competition is heating up. Is this something good for / worth investing in? Maybe a long hold for 15 years? it reminds me when Googl went public at $68 / share. What other businesses(business model expansion) can it expand into?

More a personal finance question than an investment question. A family member is having health issues that I’m having to deal with. Long story short the only means I have available is a 401k loan. I’ve factored in pros and cons of this. Only question is what information will my employer have if I take this loan? Can they use it for denying me a promotion for eg? Arguing that I’m not financially responsible. I don’t think so but curious to hear if anyone had this happen to them?

Choice between a really nice property, under budget, with a pool (main reason for wanting this place), minor updates needed + landscaping eventually (well manicured lawn), in great school district (no kids so don't care but it makes it well positioned for resale - only lasted a week last time it was on the market 4 yrs ago), vs. new construction townhouse, in similar area, max budget + higher taxes ... On paper it sounds like a no-brainer but I'm torn... Some help here plz 🙏

Will we be house poor?

Getting a home (for what we believe is a good deal for the area) but it’s at least 1/3 of our monthly take home or even half because of the interest rates. The home will cost us about $3600 a month (mortgage, insurance, tax, financing repairs, etc) while we’re a DINK and our take home is about $9k/mo. This number doesn’t include groceries or food. We’re most likely going to rent out a room for about $800/mo.

Do you have a set $ you save every month? I'm 27, I've been tracking spend since 2020 and my $ saved has very strong variances MoM. If we consider 2021 a more "regular" year, I varied from $600 saved one month up to $3.2k in another (though that was partially due to a job change)... It's not affecting my overall saving % (was 46%) but wondering if I should try to even it out a bit more?

I am coach for someone in the USDC. I was talking about the pension and I was told that they only get the 401. I looked at our 401k plan and noticed the match is very poor. The match is .25. So basically if a practitioner makes $100,000 and gives 6%, then D only puts in $1500 annually. This is horrible and if I was being honest then I would advise people to look to a company that cares for their future. I googled average matches and Deloitte is not even close to the average.

Man, with these put plays paying off, plus the nice gains I made in GRAF shares and warrants popping yesterday I’m in a pretty nice spot to benefit from the absolute fire sale in shares that I’m expecting in a month. Currently seems like JWN and OIS are to be watched for recovery plays. I also want back in on my NOK shares I sold to fund my puts. Any other recovery favourites to keep an eye on?
